Aniimo Face Codes — Face ID, Import Face Data and QR Sharing
Aniimo face codes explained: where the real Face ID field lives, how to share and import a character preset, and why face codes are not the same as gift codes.
Do face codes exist in Aniimo?
Yes, and the search term maps cleanly onto a real system. Aniimo does not use the phrase “face code” in its menus; the in-game names are Face ID, Import Face Data, and a QR-code version of the same data. The official 23 September patch notes confirm the feature by name, listing a fix for the soft keyboard not appearing when entering a face customization code.
What the community calls a face code is a block of appearance data: your character’s face shape and saved appearance settings, exported so another player can reproduce the look without matching sliders by hand. It is not a redeem code, not an account key, and not a character transfer. Treat the three search terms — face code, Face ID, Import Face Data — as one workflow with three labels. Game8’s character creation guide documents the QR import route, and Aniimo List’s Face ID page documents the typed route.
| Term players search | What it actually means |
|---|---|
| Aniimo face codes | Community shorthand for shareable Face ID or QR appearance data |
| Aniimo Face ID | The typed code that identifies a saved set of face data |
| Aniimo import face data | The in-game menu action that applies someone else’s look |
| Aniimo face QR code | The scannable version of the same data |
| Aniimo face preset | A community export posted as a starting point |
| Aniimo character import | Usually means importing appearance, not progress |

What is the difference between a face code and a gift code?
They are different systems that share the word “code”, and mixing them up is the single most common mistake around this feature. A gift code goes into the Gift Code Redemption screen and pays out Glimmer, Credits, Growth Flowers or Aniipod Pro. A face code goes into the character customization screen and changes how your Pathfinder looks. Neither one works in the other’s field.
| Face code (Face ID / QR) | Gift code | |
|---|---|---|
| Where you enter it | Character customization, Import Face Data | Account screen, Gift Code Redemption |
| What it gives | Appearance data for your character | Glimmer, Credits, Growth Flowers, Aniipod Pro |
| Cost | Free | Free, one use per account |
| Expires | No | Yes, some codes are time-limited |
| Changes account progress | No | Yes, adds currency and items |
| Community sharing | Reddit threads, Discord, Game8 board | Code lists on guide sites |
If you are here for rewards rather than looks, the Aniimo codes page is the right one; it lists the active codes and the redemption path step by step.
How do you import a face code in Aniimo?
The import lives inside the character customization flow, not in settings. That distinction matters because players who cannot find the button are usually looking in account or server menus, where it does not exist.
- Open character customization. This happens during character creation, and again later from the Appearance entry in the main menu — press Esc on PC, Options on PS5, or Menu on Xbox, then select Appearance.
- Open the Design tab and go to the face or design section, where the adjustment options and the data-sharing option sit together.
- Choose Import Face Data.
- Scan the QR image or type the Face ID manually.
- Preview the imported face before confirming, then save it.
- Adjust hair, makeup or outfit afterwards if you want — the imported sliders stay editable, so a face code is a starting point rather than a locked template.
Face and hair changes after the fact are not free, which is worth knowing before you import ten looks in a row. Changing facial features costs one Redesign Card (300 Glimmer from the Shop), and dyeing hair costs one Hair Saloon Card (also 300 Glimmer). Changing hairstyle alone is free. Clothing Design was not available at launch and is scheduled for 30 September 2026.
How do you share your own face code?
The flow is export first, share second, and the export produces both formats at once.
- Open the character customization or Design Studio screen.
- Go to the design or face section where the adjustment sliders live.
- Use the export option to generate your character’s face data.
- Save the resulting QR image and copy the typed Face ID.
- Post whichever fits the platform: an image suits Reddit threads, a typed ID suits Discord chat where images scroll away.
Game8 runs a dedicated Face Codes Sharing Board for exactly this, and the format that works best is a screenshot plus the typed ID plus a note about hair, outfit, makeup and lighting, because those separate choices change how the imported face reads on your character. Credit the original poster when you repost someone else’s look. Sportskeeda’s customization walkthrough covers the same menu path from the Appearance side.
| Where people share | Best for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Game8 Face Codes Sharing Board | Screenshot plus code pairs that stay findable | Older posts may use pre-patch options |
| r/Aniimo threads | Screenshots next to codes, easy to compare | Launch-week threads mix several codes in one chain |
| Official Discord | Fast real-time swaps and requests | Codes scroll away quickly |
| In-game friends | Direct sharing with someone you trust | No searchable record |
Why does a face code import fail?
Four failure modes account for almost every report, and none of them are fixed by deleting your character.
| Problem | What to try |
|---|---|
| Face ID does not work | Recheck capital letters, lookalike characters and copied trailing spaces |
| QR code will not scan | Open the image full-size, raise screen brightness, or type the Face ID instead |
| “Face is already in usage” | Change one small slider on your current face, save, then import again |
| Imported face looks different | Compare hair, outfit, makeup and lighting separately from the face shape |
| Cannot find the import button | Look in the face or customization section, not in account or server settings |
The “face is already in usage” message reads like a bad code but behaves like a state conflict, and the community workaround is to nudge one slider on the current face and retry. On mobile, scanning a QR image stored on the same device is awkward — request the typed Face ID instead, or display the image on a second screen. A screenshot alone is a preview, not an import code.
[!warning] Face codes are not a shortcut to account progress Importing a face does not bring creatures, levels, inventory, Glimmer, story state, starter choice, server region or Battle Pass progress with it. Anyone offering a “full character import” is describing something the game does not do. Never scan a QR image that leads to a login page, a reward page or an account-verification form — face import happens inside the game client only.
What can a face code actually carry?
A face code carries the appearance data the character creator produces, and the creator is deep enough that reproducing a look by hand is impractical. That is the whole reason the export exists.
| Creator section | What you can set |
|---|---|
| Presets | Male and female preset starting points, per gender |
| Face | Face shape, eyebrows, eyes, nose, mouth, ears |
| Makeup | Eye and brow makeup, pupils, iris patterns, blush, lips, markings, skin |
| Hair | Hairstyle, individual hair sections, colours, highlights, gradients |
| Body | Arms, hands, shoulders, chest, waist, hips, thighs, calves |
| Clothing | Outfits and accessories |
| Face Blend | Combines facial attributes from multiple appearances into one result |
Face Blend is the one option that behaves differently from the rest: instead of importing a finished look, it merges facial attributes from several appearances and lets you keep editing the blend afterwards. If you like two community faces and want neither exactly, blend them and then tune the result.
Are face codes tied to your account or your platform?
A face code carries appearance data and nothing else, so it has no account link and no platform lock. The same Face ID a PC player exports applies to a mobile character and vice versa — the data describes sliders, not a server identity. That is consistent with how the rest of Aniimo’s cross-play works: the 1.1 update added cross-platform login between mobile and PC or console for the same account, but appearance import does not depend on that link at all.
The practical limits are small. Importing someone else’s face does not change your starter choice, which is locked at character creation on a separate screen. It does not touch your creature box or your team. It does not move you between servers. And it does not consume a Redesign Card by itself — the card is spent when you edit facial features afterwards, not when you apply an imported face.
[!tip] The best way to use a face code Import the face, then spend your free editing on hair and outfit rather than on face sliders. Hairstyle changes cost nothing, so a code plus a different hairstyle gets you a distinctive Pathfinder for the price of one import. Save the Redesign Card for a change you cannot make any other way.
The same sharing pattern already exists elsewhere in the game. The launch notes state that furniture groups can now be shared via codes as well, which means the underlying idea — export a configuration, send it as a code — is a design pattern in Aniimo rather than a one-off cosmetic feature. If you enjoy the building side, expect the same workflow to keep expanding.
