How to Change Weather in Aniimo — Branch, Co-op and Real Time
How to change weather in Aniimo: unlock Change Weather at the Breezy Plains Branch, work around the greyed-out options, and which Aniimo need rain, storm or snow.
Can you change the weather in Aniimo?
Yes, but only one weather type can be forced today. The Change Weather ability sits at the Breezy Plains Branch and unlocks once you have infused 60 Lumin Amber and earned the Silver Badge for the region you want to affect. In the live build the selector only allows Prismana Flow; sunny, rainy, snowy and thunderstorm entries exist in the same menu but are locked and greyed out.
That leaves three working routes to a different sky: force a Prismana Flow with a Prismana Crystal, borrow someone else’s weather by visiting their world, or read the forecast and wait. Weather affects spawns in every region, and it is the only condition that some forms will ever appear under, so this page covers all three routes plus the full list of weather-locked Aniimo. Game Rant’s walkthrough and Game8’s weather page both reach the same three-route conclusion.
[!warning] Where the greyed-out options matter Rainstorm Luminelle and Thunderstorm Sherro cannot be forced with the Branch today. Do not burn Lumin Amber expecting a rain button — the menu will not let you press it. Use the forecast, co-op, or the Prismana Crystal route instead.
How does the weather system actually work?
Each region of Idyll runs its own weather on its own clock. The current condition shows on your HUD, and the map holds a forecast per region. Weather advances in real time — it is not tied to how long you play, so the practical unit of planning is “what is the sky doing in that region right now” rather than “how many minutes must I stand here”.
Regional weather schedules run on server time, which differs by shard: Asia runs UTC+8, Europe runs UTC, and the Americas run UTC-4. Two players standing in the same region on different shards can therefore be looking at different weather, which is exactly why co-op world hopping works as a shortcut.
| Weather | What it changes | Forms it wakes up |
|---|---|---|
| Rain | Dampens Fire damage, raises aquatic spawns | Rainstorm Nimbi, Rainstorm Turbo, Rainstorm Thornblade, Rainstorm Stellarys, Rainstorm Luminelle, Beach Tromber |
| Thunderstorm | Rain plus lightning hazards, boosts Electric spawns | Everything rain brings, plus Thunderstorm Scorchhowl and Thunderstorm Sherro |
| Snow | Frost, Ice-aligned encounters | Snowfield Pomegg, Snowfield Baleetle, Snowfield Helmut, Snowfield Rookey, Snowfield Waleetle, Snowfield Pawney |
| Prismana Flow | Replaces local spawns with the region’s Prismana form | One Prismana per region |
| Shooting stars | Nighttime only, not a weather type | Following a landed trail leads to Alpha Luminelle |
Weather spawns are forms, not just species, and they usually carry a second element the basic form does not have. Rainstorm Thornblade fights as Grass and Lightning rather than plain Grass; Snowfield Rookey adds Ice to Dark. Check the typing before you commit a team to the fight — the matchup is often the reason a weather form is worth catching at all. Every one of these records is transcribed from the game’s own spawn tables by Aniimo Tools.

How do you unlock Change Weather at the Breezy Plains Branch?
Two prerequisites, and both are regional rather than account-wide. The first is infrastructure: open your map, select the Breezy Plains Branch, choose Go to Infuse Energy, then press and hold Infuse Energy to donate 60 Lumin Amber. The Change Weather button appears on the bottom left of that same screen once the counter passes 60.
The second is per-region progress. To change weather in a specific region you need that region’s Silver Badge, which means reaching 70% Aniimo collection progress there. One source adds a third step — defeating the region’s Alpha Aniimo once — and Game Rant lists that as part of the Silver Badge requirement, while Game8 describes the badge as Lumin Amber plus collection percentage only. Treat the Alpha kill as likely-required and the two source descriptions as two readings of the same gate.
| Requirement | Value | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Lumin Amber infused | 60 | One-time unlock at the Breezy Plains Branch |
| Regional collection | 70% | Grants the region’s Silver Badge |
| Alpha defeat | Once per region | Game Rant lists it; Game8 does not (conflicting) |
| Prismana Crystal | 1 per Flow | Needed to actually trigger Prismana Flow |
| Flow cap | 3 per day | 1-minute cooldown between uses |
Lumin Amber comes from nodes scattered across Idyll and from world challenges and puzzles — there are 102 amber nodes on the community map, so the 60 needed for the Branch unlock is a real but not brutal farm. The beginner guide covers the early-game route that puts you in range of the first amber clusters.
Which ways can you change the weather right now?
Three routes work in the live build, and a fourth exists with a catch.
| Route | How it works | What it can produce | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Breezy Plains Branch | Map, select Branch, Infuse Energy, Change Weather | Prismana Flow only | 1 Prismana Crystal per Flow, 3 per day |
| Co-op world visit | Join another player’s world via invite | Whatever weather their world currently runs | Free |
| Waiting in real time | Weather advances on its own schedule | Any natural weather | Free, unpredictable |
| Photo mode | Weather selector inside photo mode | Scene visuals only, nothing outside the frame | Free, cosmetic |
The photo mode entry is the one that misleads people. It does change the weather you can see, but the change is confined to the photo scene: no spawns are affected and the world outside the frame stays as it was. If a guide tells you to flip photo mode weather to catch a Rainstorm form, that advice is wrong.
Co-op is the underrated route. Because each world rolls its own weather, a friend whose server is currently raining in Tideblossom Coast is a free Luminelle spawn. Ask in the community before you spend a Crystal you cannot replace.
How do you read the weather forecast in the map?
Open the map, zoom all the way out, and select the region you care about. A panel opens on the right with a tab marked by a sun icon; that tab shows the region’s upcoming weather in local time. Below each forecast entry the game also prints the icons of any Aniimo that spawns under that condition.
That second detail is what makes the forecast a checklist rather than a novelty. If you need Rainstorm Luminelle, you are not watching for rain in the abstract — you are watching for the Luminelle icon to appear under a rainy forecast entry in Tideblossom Coast. Highlighting the region is enough; you do not need to travel there to read it.
[!tip] Plan around the forecast, not the clock Weather changes on real time and the forecast shows what is coming. Screenshot the tab for the two regions you are farming, then route your session so you arrive as the condition lands instead of waiting in place.
Which Aniimo need a specific weather to spawn?
This is the list worth keeping open. Every row is a form that will not appear outside its weather.
| Aniimo form | Weather | Region | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rainstorm Nimbi | Rain or Thunderstorm | Nimbus Fields, The Argent Strait | Wind and Lightning |
| Rainstorm Turbo | Rain or Thunderstorm | Nimbus Fields | Wind and Lightning |
| Rainstorm Thornblade | Rain or Thunderstorm | Sea of Flowers | Grass and Lightning |
| Rainstorm Stellarys | Rain or Thunderstorm | Forest of Falling Stars | Dark and Water |
| Rainstorm Luminelle | Rain or Thunderstorm | Tideblossom Coast | One at a time, cave spawn, no respawn |
| Beach Tromber | Rain | Tideblossom Coast | Wind and Water; coastal singer |
| Thunderstorm Scorchhowl | Thunderstorm | Beast Fang Ridge | Fire and Lightning; does not respawn |
| Thunderstorm Sherro | Thunderstorm | Echoback Landing | Water and Lightning; does not respawn |
| Snowfield Pomegg | Snow | Driftwise Meadow, Rosetower Woods, Sea of Flowers | Grass and Ice |
| Snowfield Baleetle | Snow | Russet Highlands | Earth and Ice |
| Snowfield Waleetle | Snow | Mixed cold regions | Earth and Ice |
| Snowfield Helmut | Snow | Driftwise Meadow, Russet Highlands | Dark and Ice |
| Snowfield Rookey | Snow | Russet Highlands | Dark and Ice; hidden inside snowballs |
| Snowfield Pawney | Snow | Russet Highlands | Dark and Ice, level pocket 44–49 |
| Snowfield Pomawk | Snowy night | Rosetower Woods | One at a time, top of Grizbo Cave |
Several of these are gated twice over. Snowfield Pomawk needs snow and night and the Pomegg Party quest completed; Rainstorm Luminelle and Thunderstorm Sherro only ever allow one spawn at a time and never respawn, so a failure costs you the whole weather window. The Luminelle page breaks down the cave route, and the Scorchhowl page covers the storm spawn.
How do you get a weather form if the weather will not cooperate?
Work the problem from the least expensive route upward. First, check the forecast for every region you have unlocked — the condition you want may already exist somewhere you were not looking. Second, ask a friend or a co-op partner whose world runs the weather you need, since it costs nothing and works immediately. Third, if the target also has a Prismana or egg route, take that instead: weather forms are not always weather-only.
Eggs are the cleanest bypass. Wild eggs descend at night during Stella showers, role-targeted Egg Boxes come tuned to a combat role, and named eggs can lock in a specific outcome rather than rolling for one. The egg hatching guide covers labels and Hatchinator placement, and the rare and event Aniimo page tracks which of these forms are currently obtainable outside their weather.
If you are farming Prismana rather than weather forms, the Branch route is the only lever that responds to player action today. Prismana Crystals force a Flow directly, Nurture raises the region’s Prismatic Energy for a chance at one, and the weekly rotation parks a specific Prismana in a specific region. All of that sits in the Prismana guide and the Prismana Flow rotation schedule.
[!note] Single-source items on this page The Alpha-Aniimo step in the Silver Badge requirement comes from one outlet. The 70% collection figure and the 60 Lumin Amber figure are reported consistently by two. The Prismana Crystal’s exact source is described as the Nurture Branch by Aniimo Tools and as “donating Lumin Ambers” by Game Rant — likely the same screen, but read it as one system rather than two.
